Just noticed on PIC that Turkish Airlines fly from the UK to Manila (via Istanbul) for under £500 currently. I do suspect though that TA isn't high up the ranking in terms of safety records. Probably an airline to avoid.

Actually I have flown with them many times, not only when I lived in Turkey but also the Middle East, never had a problem, good service and new planes...
It's likely to be full of guys and gals off for some training in Syria. On the way back, it will be full of those who have had training in Syria

Turkey isn't the most popular of countries at the moment, with some rather unpleasant people. I'd be pretty nervous.
hello i have booked Turkish Airlines to Manila will report what it is like the reason i booked was price and also out of Birmingham if you check it has been voted the best European Airline for the last 4 years the stop over times are good three and a half hours each way oh the price £489 that is for the month of May
I've flown with Turkish a few times, no issues at all. Good all-round service.
Best European airline .... even though all the votes came from Syria

Let's hope their 'friends' the Russians don't 'accidentally' shoot any more passenger airliners down.
