    End Of An Era

... following the death, earlier this afternoon, of the last surviving member of the oldest generation of my immediate family. I am referring to my mother's sister, my Aunt Jean, who - had she lived for a few more weeks - would've turned 98!

    Thankfully, she slept away peacefully.

    RIP.

Indeed it's a grand old age, Steve ... even nowadays. Yes, lots of lovely memories too that cannot be erased. Thanks for your kind condolences ... they're very much appreciated.

    Condolences from me too Arthur.

As we get older we say goodbye to more and more friends and relations. They live on only in our memories.

Sadly, you're right, but ... ... at least we're left with those memories - and photos.

Agree with that, I think back on family and friends that have gone often.

I do not dwell on my eventual passing and have as much as possible in order, and my funeral paid for.

    My condolences Arthur.
    Mick.

Oh I know ... it's an inescapable fact - one affecting us ALL sooner or later - unfortunately.

Sensible philosophy. I have certainly thought about taking out some sort
of prepaid funeral plan ... but not got around to it yet.
