Thanks... and sorry about going off-topic folks.

What a great qualifying session on what appears to be a really challenging and exciting track.

Tricky track Graham, should be a very interesting race also I noticed DC has confidence in Lewis pulling something out of the bag, let's see I don't think it will be an easy race for any driver

Time for Lewis Hamilton to give 100 per cent focus on winning.

Good luck Lewis and the Mercedes team from my home town

    I understand what you mean.
I also love to watch the Tour de France, but I have a strong connection with the Mercedes racing engine group and we used to go see Lewis Hamilton when he held public visits there.

    Fantastic race today.

I can only drive the track on my Xbox, but it has to be one of the hardest to master, as well as being one of the fastest.

Yes, it seems Lewis is getting back to normal, but Max Verstappen is the one to watch, at the rate he's going could be next years champion

    Yes, another great race.

Ooops... I meant to post this after Silverstone.

I always want to have a run around the track in something, after seeing the F1. This time in a good old British Ultima. Not as quick as F1s of course, but pretty fast on a flat featureless Silverstone, where it's sometimes difficult to remember exactly where you are on the track !

Is he the best F1 driver since Schumacher? Is he better than Senna?

I'm not an F1 buff but he looks to be a fantastic driver especially since he started this season slowly and now has six wins out of his last seven races.

Apparently this is his 50th win from 180 starts.

If he continues another couple of years maintaining his present standard he could be the best ever, but I think his biggest opposition will be Max Verstappen, a brilliant up and coming winner

Just watched Belgian Grand Prix qualifying, misery face is in pole position Max Verstappen in second Riccardo in fifth also Lewis at the back due to mechanical penalties, I think tomorrow's race should be a very exciting one, there will be plenty of overtaking for Lewis Hamilton and I'm sure Daniel Riccardo and Max Verstappen will put pressure on Rosberg, the two Ferrari's will at least maintain their third and fourth positions. Really looking forward to tomorrow's race.

    Thanks.

I fell asleep during the qually.

Spa is one of my favourite tracks, both for watching, and for driving on my Xbox. Very fast and thrilling, with a compromise between downforce and top speed needed for the several long straights, or near-straights.

You'd be amazed at the level of driving sensation you get now, when using a good 'force-feedback' wheel and pedal set-up... like when you get launched from one side of the road to the other when cresting l'Eau Rouge.

I've just finished replicating the set-up I built here, but in 'knock-down kit' form, which can be fitted within a large suitcase and taken to the Phils with me.

I have an extra wheel to take too of course... not shown here.

Nice set up Graham looks comfortable, Almost bought myself a brand new Alfa Romeo Mito 105BHP 875cc Twin Air junior' as Alfa were paying the £2225 deposit on offer until 30th Sept, didn't go ahead because Kia wouldn't release me from my finance contract until I've made another 12 payments, Damm. Anyway after road testing it and watching all the car critics video's on the internet seems a bit of a beast, I must admit when it's in the Dynamic setting it feels and sounds really sporty, fun car. BTW like your latest Avatar, nice

Yes, it had everything that race... marvellous.

I then had to do a quick lap myself on the Xbox.

A bit rough round the edges, as I just went straight into it without any practice or setting the car up properly. (Speeds are in mph)

Youtube always degrades the original perfect graphics, unfortunately.

    Yes.... looking good Michael.

Replay of me doing a quick lap of Monza GP track (apols for lousy graphics, ruined by youtube upload. Perfect on the telly).

I have 'Need For Speed Shift', 'Need For Speed Shift2 Unleashed'.... which is the one above, and also 'Forza Motorsport 4', and 'Forza Horizon2'

All great games, but with different tracks and cars.

Monza is only on the NFS series, for instance.

Forza additionally has a great graphics customisation feature.

I'm about to order the biggest suitcase on Amazon, in which to pack the complete 'spare' driving set-up I've made/bought to take to the Phils with me next time.

    edit:

Sorry... repeating my post above I see. doh ! Stupid old man.

    Rainy day pastime.

Again, imagine graphics to be 10 times better quality and very realistic, which they are on the TV screen. I also have full 'force feedback' through the motorised steering wheel, so kerbs, collisions etc can be felt .

Naturally I am trying to avoid touching the other vehicles, as the result would be the same as in real life (apart from me not being dead. lol) .

In this case the idea is to do a lap faster than the other cars.

I took my driving games to Phils with me and didn't bring any back. I just have GTA 5 now, where I can steal and drive all manner of things. But I do like proper driving games.
