Looks like we're heading for a nail-biting end to the season... which has to be good.

I don't know why, but that Austin circuit does nowt for me, though it's probably challenging for the drivers. So many other great circuits in the States that could have been used.

You should be back in the UK in time to watch the last race, is that correct?

I know we are both great Lewis H fans
I do hope he can get his head together and get the result I feel he deserves.

    C'mon Lewis.

In many ways it's largely in the hand of Nico, but I'm sure Lewis is feeling on top of the world from his Brazillian win

Thank you Peter, it seems there's only yourself and Graham interested apart from myself, I always thought most men took an interest in F1, yes I agree good luck to Lewis because for him to win now Nico has got to be lower than third position at the next race

, Michael ... NOT me ... 'fraid I once had a lady friend who [seemed] more interested in the type of *Grand Prix you're referring to than the readily available 'F('n)1' of *mine!

So, as you can imagine just wasn't on!

I once was very interested, going to the British grand prix a few times, but like anything in life it changes, too much money, same old same, and then it becomes boring to a few, and I am afraid I am one of the few.
I am no expert at all about this but when the races was won on the track they was exciting times now its won on a computer and a pit stop.

I am a total fan of F1, there are more of us out there you know. I only subscribe to the sky sports channels so i can watch all the Grand Prix races live. The BBC only have a handful of races a year that are live. You can not beat watching live racing.
I can see Steve's point about actually being at the circuit and watching the live racing, i have been there and a few things can spoil the day like the weather or missing most of the action as you can only see about an eighth of the circuit. I found that getting out and back on the A43 and then M1 used to be a major nightmare and being stuck in traffic for hours did not help the experience of the day.

Bring back manual transmission, that will sort out the men from the boys.

We use to have the whole weekend at the circuit, it was fun if there was a gang of you, but like you say if it rained then it was crap for you but very exciting watching the cars,
It could turn out to either be a great weekend or a crap expensive weekend, what spoilt it too was when they stopped you doing the pit walk also.

Keith and I never miss a F1 race. We just don't post in the forum. Superb drive from Max Verstappen. Pity his team messed up the pit stops again. He should've been 2nd.

Max Verstappen is certainly the one to watch, he has really livened up F1 and I love it when he gets behind Nico

I agree Michael. We'll need to wait and see if he has technical ability or just bravado.
I hope it's ability. It's time for another

I just wish the cars didn't sound so rubbish... and all the same rubbish !

More exciting and better sounds on my Xbox !

Goodwood Festival of Speed done every couple of weeks would be heaven... watching all the oldies belting round, accompanied by blood-curdling noise.

I understand where you're coming from Graham and I agree with you, but I suppose it's all about progress in modern engineering

I would want a bit more than that if I was paying a hundred quid for a ticket, or whatever it is now Michael. It's a spectator sport, not a blinkin technology exhibition.

Maybe in the not too distant future there will be electric cars

And there is the problem, just like you say about the £100 we was paying that years ago if you wanted to go into the stands, Joe public pays through the nose for things like this it's all for the rich and corporate deals these days.

    They're already racing electric ones.

Each to their own, but I prefer noisy piston-power... and a bit of individualism... bearing in mind that it was the innovation of individuals like Colin Chapman, founder of Lotus Cars, that greatly contributed towards current open-wheel race car design... not a computer programme.
