Malaysia is the world’s second largest producer ( after Indonesia ) of palm oil, employing about 0.5 m people, although the Government is attempting to limit expansion by retaining at least half the country’s land as forest cover, in response to concerns about its environmental impact.
This was the first airport to serve Kuala Lumpur ( 1952 - 1965 ), now developed for use by the Royal Malaysian Air Force :-
The Board of Commisioners of Currency, Malaya, started to issue currency about 75 years ago. When the British regained control of Malaya after World War II, notes were issued in 1945 ( printed in London by Bradbury, Wilkinson ). Face value of this would be around £1000, but worth far more nowadays if genuine ( not a replica as here ! ) :-
