Best (cheapest lol ) way to send money BUT not WU

ok used WU for years now but suddenly - despite having a verified account - they want wage slips bank statements etc basically they can go swivel.

so i started using transferwise which is good for bank to bank transfers but last week i had to send a money in minutes transfer with money gram and they charged over £9 for a 2000p transfer-

    anyone got a cheaper option?

would think this topic has been covered a lot of times already -we could send 100k for 9£ but dont know if the company we use operate where you are,it isnt just the cost of sending -the exchange rate they offer is also a big factor .

I've used iRemit and PNB for many years. Always a very good rate. The fees are pretty fair.
I looked at Transferwise and it seems good.
I haven't used it yet and I'm a little hesitant to switch routes without solid recommendations from long term users.

My missus sends it via the Post Office, it's most likely the most expensive way to send it....

I use Orbit Remit, they only charge £5 however much I send. At first you have to upload proof etc but once that's done it's plain sailing. After you state who you want to pay and how much then you transfer the money from your bank to theirs then it's collected by your recipient. I've been using them for a few years..... very happy with them.

Here is a little comparison site, put in your compare amount and see the difference

Perhaps unsurprisingly WU dont feature in the Top 3

The best value for ’transferring money’ is to use a Nationwide credit card.

There is no commission for using it to make purchases (there is for drawing cash) and as long as one pays in local currency then the exchange rate is second to none.

We live in Spain and I use my card for almost all purchases.

If my wife lived in Phil, or of we supported a relative there, sending them a NW credit card on my account, which they could use for purchases, would be the most cost effective way.
