    Car purchase

Where do you guys go to buy a used car, or is it a question of better being safe than sorry and buy new
Here I would look to buy a year old model from an authorised dealer, but dealers there don't seem to sell second hand models, I presume they don't offer a trade in against a new vehicle.
In particular I'm looking for a Toyota Fortuna and am reluctant to pay out over 2m for the new model when a 2 year old 10kms model can be had for 1.3m.
Been looking in OLX and won't be buying until we get there later this year, but I'd rather do my homework now and possibly have a car waiting to be picked up when we get there.

My Bro in law bought an almost brand new Grandia from a big place in Manila that sells Bank repossessions..He got a reasonable deal and of course manufacturers warranty..

    Something like this..
    https://www.securitybank.com/persona...wned-vehicles/
    https://www.psbank.com.ph/carsforsal...ookieSupport=1
    https://www.philmotors.com/BDO-Car-Depot-QC.html
    http://www.foreclosurephilippines.co...cars-for-sale/

Apart from that type of deal...Be careful.

    Cheers Fred

I've been looking at this company

    https://www.philmotors.com/Autolux-M...html?price=asc

They seem to have some decent feedback on the most important place to look for locals.....

We bought two cars from a local dealer in Cabanatuan. He was very good and there were no problems with papers or changing ownerships to our names. He has bought a car from us too. Maybe go on recommendations Simon with someone you trust. Our car dealer is now Ninong to our son, that's how much we trust him.

Cabanatuan is in the neighbouring province to both Pampanga and your old stomping ground Tarlac. Just take the expressway up to Tarlac from Angeles and turn right heading for Santa Rosa.

    Better start saving

Cabanatuan is the next big city to the east coming from Tarlac. Should take around 1.5 hrs from Angeles using the expressway.

we have always bought our cars through the route the earlier poster mentioned , bank repossessions. never had any issues. i will ask Joy for the details, she does all the deals and has them shipped over here in containers.

I haven't jumped into car purchase/ownership just yet.
Maybe soon I will, maybe not.

I've had moments when I wished I had one, but not enough to justify the cost.

    Just my 2 centavos

I'd like a very large SUV with a permanent local driver

As it happens, I find driving here in NCR much easier and more disciplined than in Mindanao and especially Davao City.

My experience is diametrically-opposed - Davao is a far nicer place to drive with more dual carriageways, sensible speed limits and traffic lights that work and are respected. But that's from a driver's perspective rather than a passenger's!
