Talking Inappropriately~Clad Woman Denied Opportunity To Cast Vote

Given a good old "dressing down", instead.

    Quite right too!

Stupid bitch! ... what else did she expect? Thankfully, throughout the 30~odd years I served as a Presiding Officer, I'd never had an occasion to encounter anything like this situation. ... otherwise it would've been my duty also, to ask her to leave the polling station.

Going by the title I was expecting something more raunchy such as a Union Jack bikini.

Dressed slightly OTT IMO although I wouldn't have stopped her voting.

'fraid you'd have little choice, Jamie ... since such mode(s) of attire, would, in the circumstances, be deemed "overt canvassing" contrary to the Representation of The People's Act.

Fair enough Arthur. I didn't realise there was a dress code. Are pyjama's allowed?

Mind you, on the other hand, supposing, say, the woman had turned up wearing a burka ... then ... ... I suppose polling staff would've no option but to grant her access.

ruling might change, of course, once we've fully extricated ourselves from the dictates of European Law.

So presumably 'Screaming Lord Sutch' would have been turned away also ?
    .

    Miserable buggers.

This is just a precious part of the British unique and often eccentric character... that we are trying to preserve !
