The trouble is you only can go so far when trying to get a picture better, like Fred says it is truely rewarding seeing what you can do, but it is time consuming too, best bet is to get that great picture first time , then play with it,

My use with Photoshop, is restoring old early 1900s photos of family to use in my Family Tree.
I get a lot of photos through restoring distant relatives photos free for them as long as I can use them in my tree.
