Giving your notice AGAIN

Wells its happened again.
Friday a work college and friend handed is notice in at work AGAIN, and this time its for really so he says,he brought the letter in and put it on the owners desk knowing it will be ready for Monday morning when they are all back from holiday, he was making a little fun about thats it and if the boss does this and that i will walk as he says.
You should have seen is face when the boss walked in later that day, i told him to get down there to his office and explain the reasons and off he trotted.
Well the boss is upset and he will have a word later with him and so on but life goes on still.
Later on the tw-t who is the manager walked down to the bosses office too and a little later came out and could not wait to tell me , he too has told the owner he is leaving in 16 months, i dont know why he told me , its nothing to do with me i told him,
A little later the friend explained that the tw-t manager told the boss the reason why WE are leaving is down to stress, i have no idea why he involved me and my friend in giving 16 months notice .
Anyway aint life funny , over the last few years it was me who said i was going and after lots of rumors going around i told the boss that i was leaving but not just yet and i would give him lots of notice too, last January i told him it will not be this year and it still wont , but when i see him next January i am hoping to have some sort of time to say when , who knows i may stay just to make sure the Tw-t manger is going when he says he is,
I wonder if i will get a pay rise to make me stay a little longer , or a golden handshake to make me go sooner ,

When I left work abt 8 years ago, they said see you when you visit, my reply was you will never see me here again, and I have not been back, or even thought about it.
Retirement was the best thing that could happen.

Mick, Emma would stay here for ever, she loves the weather here, she loves the holidays and her new Friends too,
I wanted to move long ago and we both agreed a date which was going to be when i hit 60, but that date has moved so many times and its down to 58 and a bit, but who knows, its not having the bottle from me to say IM OFF,
Its down to hard cash , have we enough to last myself and Emma all our lives and remember Emma will not have a pension once we go only her private one that she has paid in for so long , but would she bother with that in say 20 years time if i am not around ,
But deep down i think we shall have more then enough, so next year we will be off, i just need Emma to agree

Personally,I never tied myself into a job that tight that it was ever that difficult to just say..."cya mate"!!
I guess we are all different..
My grandfather worked for one company (ICI) for 40 odd years...Dont remember him, ever getting a gold watch.. Put me off for life I guess!!

33 years at the same company for me , seems like only yesterday

Most employers in the Uk don't really care if any of their workers decide to leave
With the endless supply of Eastern Europeans looking for work don't expect any employers in the UK to change their attitude until this resource of cheap labour ends
No need for pay rises also these days they are simply not needed

Seeing that workers on the shop floor earnings have actually decreased by 10% over the last few years
it does not take a rocket scientist to work out why

Of course company owners and blue chip company directors have seen an increase in their earnings !

Why would any employer be bothered if any workers leave as long as there are thousands of Eastern Europeans
waiting outside to fill their boots

It's always better to work for a little less and keep your job if it helps the company you work for to survive, seen too many company's go under because unions bring workers out on strike for more money instead of negotiating, look what Scargill did for the Miners

Tried that. Actually I took several pay cuts over the years at one place. The last one was a 50% reduction. Yep, that's 50%. The thanks I get for being a loyal hard worker and it wasn't about the company surviving - it was pure greed.

The trouble with accepting pay cuts is that certain employers will push the boundaries due to workers not standing up for themselves previously. On this occasion I lost the bet so to speak but it didn't deter me from doing the same at another company later down the line and this time I won so it's definitely better to roll the dice IMO than to do nothing and risk getting screwed over even further. This is why I was in favour of Brexit because Brussels was taking the people of this country for idiots.

On a side note, I was speaking to someone who had been working for a well known company for over twenty years. Only last year he was given a promotion but recently he was made redundant. Did they thank him for his years of service? Did they hell! He was escorted off the premises by security. How disrespectful is that?

Loyalty has gone out of the window in most cases, its all about what you think is fair for yourself,
I have been in the company so long now and at my age i know i could not go into another job and get the same amount for what i do,
But my way of dealing with things is speak my mind and if i am wrong i will say so too, but i will not take any crap from anyone,
We are taking on 2 new staff this coming week but i also know we are going to force 2 staff members out , i am against this and i have told them so in my own words too, this is the down side for working for a private company who think they can do what they want and no ones got the balls to tell them except me ,
Hay ho life goes on and with all these people hanging in there notice and saying they are too, there is only going to be militant Steve left, at lease Ems would be happy

Well another day and another story to tell.
The boss came down again to day to have a talk with the friend who has handed in his notice, they was together in the office for quite awhile and then they came out.
My friend was fuming and he could not wait to try to tell me something, i could see he was upset and angry but me being me i just could not help but wind him up a little, HAS HE REFUSE TO ACCEPT YOUR NOTICE i said, well that was it, he exploded and it all came out.
As i have mentioned about the manager who is not my cup of tea, well it seems that this bloke went in the office telling the boss that the reason he was leaving was because he dont like him and he hates the job and the family too, , this had upset the boss and he had to come and sort this out ,
Lies lies lies and more lies it seems to be have said and none of it true, i was called into the office and was asked my thoughts so both barrels went off.
What will happen to this person NOTHING i am thinking but then again the boss is angry .

Well it just gets better,
looks like the manager is going to be in the office when he gets back of holiday i am being told, a disciplinary procedure is on the cards for him.
Seems like the story he has told the boss about someone leaving is all lies which i knew anyway but the boss knows now too, and he is a angry man .
The boss new i was leaving soon but he did not want to loose this other person too but he is and like i have siad hes upset and hes angry,
A pay rise , a car and a new title for me , i dont think so, but i am excited about the tw-t manager getting his comeuppance , if this does happen he will leave he cannot stand criticism
