Which Visa Is Required to Bring Child To UK?

    Hi guys,

My wife wants her daughter to join us in the UK.

    Which visa do we need?

Child is currently 16 and living in the Philippines with my wife's eldest daughter who is 30.

I'm aware that the application is to be made online in the Philippines, however, I'd like to make sure the correct visa is being used.

Ideally I'd like a take a look at the visa application form to see what information is needed

Wife obtained Britsh Citizenship in November 2015 and has now got a British passport

She needs to apply to join a family permanently living in the UK.

    https://www.gov.uk/join-family-in-uk/overview

Successful applicants will be given an Indefinite Leave to Enter (ILE) visa.

Take note of the "Joining your parents" section in the Eligibility criteria.

Also have a read on this guidance: https://www.gov.uk/government/public...children-set07

    Many thanks for the reply.
Sorry for the delay in replying, this is my first opportunity to do so.

I've spent quite a while reading the information in the link provided, however I'm still unsure as to correct visa required. ……. is it :-

SET (F) Application for Indefinite Leave To Remain In The UK as a Child Under the Age of 18 ?

The reason I'm not sure as the application form goes on to state

"All your reasons or grounds for wishing to stay in the United Kingdom must be stated in this application" ………. note the term 'wishing to stay'

So does this mean that SET (F) is to be used for children under 18 who are already in the UK?

I'd appreciate any help in identifying the correct application.

Also, before we can look at the application form form, an account has to be created on 'Visa4UK'

Can my wife and I create the account whilst here in the UK and then send the login details to her daughter in the Philippines? This is so we can see what the form is and what information is required and may assist in the completion of the form

    Thanks again….
