You need to hang in there Steve and see it through, they might even knock some off the bill.

What i did get from EE this morning was that it is not down to them to send out a text or email to the customer telling them they have gone over there set amount no matter how much it goes over by, they dont put a cap on the bill unless you call to asked them too,

Well my lovely daughter has come around and she has shown me a page that i can fill in and send a complaint to EE.
Well i have sorry we have filled it in and it says the complaints team will get back to me within 72 hours, i am not expecting anything drastic to happen, but stranger things have happened,
Plus once this has all finished i am off to virgin £8 for 1000 minutes and 1gb of date and they do inform you if you past 80% of data by text

Steve hope u get it sorted mate,

Been with Virgin 15 years never had a problem, customer service answered within around 15 mins max normally a lot less than that and as far as I know UK based.

Also always a text to let me know if I'm getting near data limit then if I go over just £2 a day unlimited.

Thats what I call service sod the rest my wife has had so many problems with Vodafone getting changed October when contract ends.

I'm pay as you go, can't work out what a contract is all about, for instance 1000 minutes for x amount of pounds how can anyone talk on a phone for a 1000 minutes in one month? it would last me two years, what does one get with a contract and how much do contracts cost per month? just interested

Well folks, after sending the email to them last night i thought i may have to wait the full 72 hours, but this dinner time today i got a text from them saying someone will call within the next few minutes and right on queue my phone rang.
    Debbie from Sunderland pet .
She started by saying she has looked into this and we have used the said amount , but she will ask for another check of the amount what we may owe.
After a long chat of why and wheres and so on she said she will come back to me before the end of day with more answers.
Well she came back just after 4pm and said my account was over 3 years old and i should have been set a text to say i am approaching my limit and i should have only paid £1.99 per day charges too if i did go over.
The new total i owe them is from £621 to £69, but with all the stress and not receiving the said text from them she is going to try to have the charged dropped completely.
Fantastic news and i did thank her for all her help,

    Good result Steve

On a side note, I'd check if the data is still being used as it sounds to me like it might be. You said it is £1.99 per day charges, so why is the bill still £69, surely it should be £12 (your monthly tariff) + £1.99 for the one day. Might be worth double checking, better safe than sorry

...GREAT news, Steve - there's a queer difference between £621 and *£69 - and if the phone company waives even *that charge too, then so much the better!

Simon, I think the £1.99 might be a daily charge if you go over your tariff.. Could be wrong though.
