Points in what I think are in order of importance.....
The leader of the opposition hasn't got the intelligence to book a seat on a train which he knows is going to be overcrowded
There were seats available as he states, but he wanted to sit next to his wife (
your link). Can't see his wife sitting on the floor next to him though
The blokes meant to be the leader of the opposition, someone who want us to vote in to run our country, but he'd rather try and score points by sitting on the floor than have a seat in first class and do some actual work

And though he appeared to stumble his way past a whole lot of seats which seemed to be unoccupied, those had reservation tickets tucked at the back of each ... meaning, of course, that, unless you had pre~booked, then your chances of travelling in comfort were, at BEST, minimal!
