    Sad day today

Well that day has come to say farwell to a very good friend a work college too for over 30 years.
    Yes he is retiring today.
54 years of age and i do wish him well.
I put a note up on the notice board at work 4 weeks ago stating this and if anyone would like to contribute anything come and see me, well i can tell you never again , what tight gits and what idiots we have working for us and i must add most have known Dave for over 20 years too.
There is 3 separate collections going on as some people wants to make sure that Dave knows they have gave a little bit more then some others, and the other one has not got much and feel its best if they just do something themselves.
Well i did managed to get him £70 cash from the drivers and other staff members and also some new bike tyres he wanted , these are special tyres that he users to go off road on and bugger me aint it good when we have a customer who we delivery all there goods for who supply the best tyres ever, and to me cheap after a quick phone call, i did try to get them for free, but they did assure me i got them at a very very good price.
What have i done for my mate , well after over a week of taking pictures and editing them i have made 2 poster/picture frames , i have got a good friend to make a cake of a Crowfoots carriers lorry, some cash from me and other little silly things i now he will laugh and cry over too.
Yesterday the owners son came to see Dave even though he was traveling the opposite way down the country for his holiday to say bye and to give him 2 bottles of some sort of rum and cut glasses, Dave says these are over £100 per bottle , i have no idea at all,
A little later the owners wife dropped by with a gift and to say good bye too, today we are having all the directors here with what ever gifts they may have , i do hope they treat him right.
Its going to be a happy but very sad day today, i am not losing a friend but a work college who has watched my back for many many years , yes there has been some fall out times but the next hour or so we are back to keeping the job going and taking the Micky out of each other too.
I may bore you all later with some pictures

Well what a grand day had by all, but to tell the truth if it was not for me it would have been crap, i am so glad the rest of the people left at work i hate them all and they hate me , so i wont have to go through all this again.
Anyway i did my best and i was thanked by the boss and my mate Dave so that is all that mattered to me, what amazed me was still some folk did not even bother to shake his hand or have any words to say to him, KNOB HEADS is all i can say to them and they will be told too on Monday.
Here are a few pictures taken from my phone so not the best and i must say a BIG BIG BIGGER, thank you to a member from here for making the cake in such a short time,

Retirement day is usually a Sad Glad day.

Well done Steve, it seems you made it just that for a good mate.

I can't understand the mind of folks who wouldn't make an effort to shake hands and wish all the best. Seems to me that there are
some small minded bitter people at you place

    All credit to you Steve.

There are too many selfish and uncaring people about these days.

Thankfully there are also some good guys like yourself.
