Obtaining A National Insurance No.

Do any of you guys know whats the general timescale for a Spouse or Fiancee to be able to get a NI number to enable someone to work here?

Not too sure Harry, I can only go on what Emma did. Once we were married she was able to get her National Insurance number, but it was 6 years ago, she came on a Fiancée Visa to marry within 6 months. Things may have changed since then

I think it took about 3 weeks to come after applying

Can't remember what we did, but Harlene received hers within a month of being in the UK.

go to jobcentre-plus or ring them and they put you through to national insurance and you get given the form to fill sometimes they will ask you to come to local jobcenter
My wife got hers after 2 weeks
