Astro~photography has made GIGANTIC leaps in recent times ... so much so, that amateurs can now obtain fascinating images of very distant nebulae - thousands of light years away.

Arthur, if you look in the evening sky you can see Venus, and the early morning sky you can see Jupiter and you may even see Saturn, all viewed with your own eyes too.
And if it's a clear night look straight up and you may see the Severn sisters.
Indeed the night sky is truly amazing but wrap up warm

, Steve ... as you've demonstrated commendably - with your camera - very much to your credit!

Thank you Arthur, i was out the other evening and i caught site of Venus Mars and Saturn, plus the moon too, and i have got pictures of the seven sisters with a shooting star passing through the picture, plus the space station passing the moon and again the seven sister cluster .
Its that time of year where you will get clear crisps nights with very little noise which will improve your vision and pictures too.

Hi, Michael ... I don't think you'd the opportunity of reading this thread (posted [partly] with you in mind!) before it vanished into cyber ether!

Accordingly, I've brought it to the fore again ... for your benefit.

Wow, thank you Arthur plenty of pictures within pictures, awesome stuff. I never knew that Pluto is too small to be a planet, hence kicked off the list, amazing.
