Current processing time for "family of a settled person" visa?

    Hi all,

My partners visa runs out on the 7th of January and we are getting married on the 2nd of January, it looks like the next visa to apply for is "family of a settled person".

The cost currently is 811 pounds for 8 weeks processing (guide line) and 500 extra for same day... I was wondering if anyone has current experience of the processing time for this visa?

I was just hoping the processing time is not as long as the 8 weeks it is stated...

Any one with first hand experience, it would be great.

    Thanks in advance!

So she's here on a Fiancee Visa ?
and once married will be applying to extend her stay in the UK for another 30 months under FLR(M) ?

    The FLR(M) remains +/- at 8 weeks
If you really want fast then consider the same day service

If you have the budget and consider it beneficial/worthwhile that would be my choice.

Don't forget you'll need to stump up for the Health Surcharge also whichever route you take.

What's the issue about waiting the process time for postal application ?

    Terpe,

Sorry the waiting time was that my partner has an exam where she needs her passport... In the end we paid the 500 pounds extra and got the visa

    So happy

Now i have one question - I have paid the health surcharge, on the ID card that will be in the post it state no right to public funds, but i guess she now has access to NHS?

If you could confirm, this would be a great help...

    Thanks,
    Chino

PS Make sure you fill in your application before the deadline - I overheard a Chinese guy get told that his visa was fine, but he is getting it rejected as he applied to late - he must collect his passport at the airport!

............................... 's quite a long time to wait after paying several hundred pounds extra for the Premium Service. But ... ... at least all's well that ends well ... CONGRATULATIONS!

Yep, that's it. She'll be able to access the NHS just the same as a permanent UK resident.
