Is Manila Airport safe to travel?

    Hello,

My girlfriend is planning to visit me and we are looking at flights from Manila, via Beijin to Poland.
She is concerned about flying from Manila, as she says that she heard bad stories about that airport.
Have you ever fly out from Manila? Could you advise if it is safe to travel for Filipino?

    Regards,
    Lukasz

Yes its safe to travel frommanila for a filipina.

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.

    Or anyone else...

Never had an issue there. Probably no less safe than most airports in the developing world.

If worried about terrorist type incidents then get through checkin and security quickly - most 'trouble' happens outside security.

    Hello Tawi2 and Trefor.
    Thank you for the info.

DO you know if it is common for the Immigration official to ask for documents other than visa, flight ticket and passport?
So if you are a Filipino travelling from Manila and going to abroad, can anyone working at the airport request other documents and not allow to board the place if you do not have them?
We were reading that some people were offloaded because they did not have an invitation from the visiting country/hotel reservations etc.

    Regards,
    Lukasz

Yes,they can and at times will ask you for further documented proof of hotel reservations, funds to show you can provide for yourself during tour tourist trip etc,if they arent satisfied despite the fact you have a visa then they refuse you and dont allow you to fly,i know someone it happened to,filipino immigration officers arent renown for their charm, wit,or tact.

My wife has flown out of Manila before with no trouble. We just try to avoid it only because of the traffic there and getting to another terminal is a nightmare at times but saying that once we get in the airport we have never had any trouble or problems. Just remember the airport taxes that you will have to pay before you can get to the departure lounge.

Wonder if they're still providing a cling film luggage wrapping service at the NAIA?

All that bullet malarkey must have caused Pinas huge embarassment.

I think they will still offer the wrapping service as someone was making cash from it and they don't want to lose that. I think everyone, even those not flying to Manila, has heard of tanim bala
