Yes another year and the car has just gone through its MOT, the cost well 3 new wiper blades and a new front tyre.
This car has done me well 17 years i have had it.
Car insurance is due soon now thats going to be fun if they think i will pay what they want.

Another few years it will become a classic car, and start going UP in value.
Its crazy what the car is worth on paper, but the cost to replace it is the true value to me, the insurance companies seem to think i have to pay more then they value the cars worth

Went to look at a car yesterday, but the air suspension needed fixing. Something I was willing to take a risk on, but we couldn't agree a price. I expect it will still be for sale on my next visit lol
I'm not in a rush to buy and something will turn up eventually.
Similar to my experience in that I'm not really needing a car anytime soon, but I like looking around close by just in case something comes up.
Yes, I know it's different here and that used car prices are relatively high.
My mind still can't accept that a 10 year old car can be such a high price and be in such a bloody condition. Some should be scrapped off in my western thinking.
Still it's very interesting and there are some nice vehicles about that have been well looked after and serviced correctly by dealerships. Far too expensive for me so far though.
Last week I looked at a 2003 Mitsubishi Pajero fieldmaster automatic diesel. Advertised in original condition by the
first and original owner. Bargain at P480k

Well well, the car was very photogenic. A few dents and scratches, but nothing too bad.
The interior seats had been recovered in 'faux leather'. Not to a decent standard.
Dashboard grubbby IMO with more than a couple of cigarette burns.
To be fair the engine sounded really good with a stated mileage of only 156km, but it was in a really filthy condition.
Why can't folks keep their engines clean? The exhaust system was a hotch-potch of this and that.
All in all, not anywhere near original condition. Far too many botch jobs evident. But at the right price could have been OK

I looked at a Ford Expedition, 2001 with 130000km on the clock. Took a Ford technician with me who plugged his bit of kit in to see any faults that were there, small problem with the adaptive power steering, rear wiper not working but the biggest problem was the compressor on the air suspension. To fix could have been a nightmare so easier to convert to springs which he said would be about 30000.
Asking price was 270000 so I offered 200000 but he wouldn't drop below 230000, his loss.
My Toyota 1998 GLS model, 1.8 litre petrol engine , no rust, the paint laquar is beginning to flake.
120,000 miles, book price between £150__£800.
To me priceless
The way the market here is structured, I wonder if it makes any sense at all to import 'something' ??
I may just take a look at the practical aspects some time.
That price of P270k looked reasonable given the way things are here
Been down that road, as in looking to import. By all means look into it, but it's very prohibitive and works out much more expensive with the tax implications.
There's a nice looking Expedition in Pasig on OLX for 245000 but might be a bit bigger than what you're looking for.
I'm in no hurry at all and only look at whatever takes my fancy within easy travel

Might be a silly thing but I've never been much of a Ford fan for some reason or other.
Word soon spreads round here when people know you are interested in a car, even the bank teller sent a text yesterday offering a Mitsubishi Adventure, 2010 for 370000.
Never been a ford fan myself.... Had three cheap runabouts over the years, all let me down. So why for my first car that I spent a small fortune on I chose a ford, I will never know!
The heated front and back windows are a godsend in this cold snap. So nice to start the engine, wait two minutes and the wipers go swoooooooshhhh.
One of the best (for reliability and cheap running costs) cars I ever owned was one that I never would have thought I'd have owned.
I was moving house at the time, and simply needed a very cheap estate car to chuck stuff into.
I always used diesels for my work cars, as I covered a minimum 25,000 miles a year, but this was a petrol Fiat Marea Estate, a car I'd never even heard of before I went to look at it at 'Big Bill's Bangers'.
Now, I'm pretty good with car mechanics, so it would be hard to sell me a bad un, plus, having been connected with the car trade years ago, I know that real gems can be found amongst the rubbish in cheap car yards. Well that's what I found.
I hadn't intended to keep the old bus for more than a week or two, but ended up running her for 3 years and adding nearly 100,000 miles to her mileage, so comfy, reliable and cheap to run she turned out to be. Still going strong and not a sign of rust when I sold her on...which I regretted doing of course, but had already purchased her replacement. :(

Well surprise, surprise I drove past the car yesterday and just as I was saying to Shey that knew he wouldn't have sold it, the man who's selling it spots me and waves me down.
Asks if I'm still interested? Now this is good timing for a change as my rental agreement runs out tomorrow and I'll have to spend another 30000 to extend the rent to the end of the month. So it looks like I'm about to buy the car at the 200,000 I offered originally

Returned today for a test drive, and although not brilliant it'll do as a stop gap car. Shook hands, deal done, he will drive the car to me tomorrow and collect the cash after a I've been to the bank.

Not yet mate. I'll get her driving lessons next time we come, then she wants a small car but I prefer a big 4x4. May have to bite the bullet and buy new next time.
