help needed quick

Guys
I need some urgent help, sadly my wife died on christmas eve for many reasons returning her body to leyte is not going to be practical but her family would like to see her before the funeral
if she was sent home the directors say they cannot guarantee her condition on arrival for her family to see her it would be better for them to come here and see her in as good a condition as posible
how do i get emergency visas to permit a couple of them to be flown over for the funeral
the embasy seems to be closed until 7th of jan

Jasmine was in hospital having our son christopher he was born on the 21st by ceasarian. jasmine seemed to be doing well when on the 24th she had what she described as an asthma attack if fact a blood clot had formed and moved to her lung causing a pulmanary embalisim they tried for a long time to revieve her but to no avail

that is so sad to know asthma is really fatal... try phoning philippine embassy in London... they will tell you the best thing to do...thats what its job to look after filipino's in england....condolence again....

I got through to the phil embassy they refer me to the home office
To send my darling home as a body apart from the requirements you mention there is also the £10,000 fee for transportation and even then the casket would not be chilled of anything so her body would be in a terrible state and would be extremely distressing for her family it looks as if the brit embassy in manila may be able to help with emergency visas so i am hoping to speak to them via translator and make the arrangements

It says this on the Manilla site:
If our staff have to issue an emergency travel document outside normal office hours, you will have to pay an extra fee. Before making any arrangements with our staff, consider whether you also need an exit visa from the local immigration authorities as some countries do not issue these visas outside normal office hours or at weekends.

As long as they get their finger out, I shouldn't see a problem. You may need to fax the death certificate, but then I'm not speaking from experience here.

my uncle died in london last nov 21 (he was just visiting his daughter, blessed his soul) and they shipped his remains in the phils after 2 weeks, but we still got to view his remains for 1 week before he was burried.

yes your right it is expensive to ship her remains but my cousin said my uncle was at the hospital chapel for 2 weeks for filipinos to view his remain and they give money to help them shipped his remain.

Oh my god! this is terrible, awful news!

Dave I'm definitely sure that the British Embassy in Manila will issue her mother, sister or brother a visa asap! I know this because when my grandad was in a critical condition they gave my grandad's sons and daughters a visa very quick, i mean they respond very quick! this kind of case the British EMbassy takes this very seriously, there are no other requirements just show the evidence of your wifes death.

As the other members said, try phoning the Philippine Embassy in London, British EMbassy in Manila and Citizen Advice Bureau

Many people on this forum have given their condolences and Gina and I join with them in saying that Dave and his son and family are in our prayers over the tragic loss of his lovely wife Jasmine on Christmas Eve, I myself only saw a personal message from David when Gina and I came in from shopping today, I have to say I read it three times because I could not take it in.

I remember a couple of years ago, when David first started going out to the Philippines, specifically to Leyte to see Jasmine, I never thought I would be hearing news such as what has transpired with the tragic loss of Jasmine, I can remember when David used to call me, many times he called when Gina and I were shopping in Tesco, or maybe in the car travelling, such was his enthusiasm for getting back to the Philippines to see Jasmine.

I can remember all the times when David proudly described his wedding plans and how things had gone in Leyte when he first met Jasmine's family and how happy he was that she had consented to marrying him, I does not seem that long ago, that Jasmine arrived in UK, I know they settled in to a new life together, I don't think anything could have prepared any of us for hearing this tragic news.

I have replied to David under separate personal message, and coming up with the right words in support seems pretty hard right now, I have to say I am humbled by hearing of this most tragic set of circumstances.

David this forum is a virtual family of British-Filipino couples and their children, I know all the forum members here will want to join me in sending our heartfelt message of condolence to you and your family, I know Jasmine was your life, a part of her is with you now, you are in our thoughts and prayers at this most tragic of times. love the FilipinoUK Forum.
