Oh, HOW Western Eating Habits Have Changed!

Michael will definitely like this one!

... compare our dietary habits with those of 50/60 years' ago:

Indeed it's changed for the better in my eyes, but some folk don't or won't welcome change.
They are only use to the things that they was brought up on.
But we are all different ,and what suits one may not suit another.
To me Indian food is amazing, the taste is wonderful the colours are beautiful, but sometimes it can burn your bum.
But it will not stop me eating it next time, ok maybe not as hot

Embrace change, the high streets are filled with indian, thai, italian restaurants, kebab shops etc for a reason thats because our tastes are changing,in the old days it was fish and chips for fast food, nowadays the supermarkets are filled with fascinating smells tastes and colours,I love indian and thai, had 2 lebanese meals this week, havent had fish and chips for ages.

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

You were right then, Steve. Clearly, Michael hadn't seen this thread at the time it was posted ... but he has since. And his reply - as I'd anticipated - is in line with what he'd mentioned in #77 of the 'Cost of Living' discussion raised by yourself.

Funny how some people can embrace modern technology like 4K TVs and surround sound systems, but turn their noses up at anything as radical as a Chinese takeaway

Well after his reading of this thread indeed Michael has made his comment.
And i dont think its any surprise of his answer.
It just goes to show that eating the same things for over 60 to 70+ years ago is fine for a few , but that few is indeed a very small minority.
There is just so much out there that we could try and could like too.
But in my other thread i mentioned that some folk will not because of things that happened to them or there family ie the war, dont buy anything French or German and they did not.

I think its something called , keeping up with the Jones's,
I know a chap at work who has to have the latest gadget , giant tv, the best dvd and i bet he changes it every year too, but all he knows is how to switch it on.
He has a tv in every room in his house except toilet, and in one room the tv is the biggest thing in that room, talk about square eyes
