50 years ago today the Torrey Canyon hit rocks off the coast of Cornwall and started to spill oil into the sea.
The then super tanker spilled over 100, 0000 tones of crude oil in to the sea then onto the beaches killing thousands of birds and fish,
Today there is still effects from that time if there are rough sea storms .
I was so young and did not understand or was bothered and seeing the old news reals of the times, the ship looks so small compared to todays super tankers.
