Angry Act Of Sheer Mindless Vandalism!

Stepping out of our front door on Sunday morning, Myrna and I were horrified to discover that a row of beautiful tulips from one of our borders lay flattened on the concrete pathway ... their stems and petals wantonly strewn across the ground.

Sadly , it's the second time this has happened - the previous occasion being the summer following Myrna's arrival in 2009 - and we can only assume the culprits were either drunken late night revellers or druggies ... ... who knows?

Frankly, what pisses me off more than anything else is, when I think of the dedicated effort my wife put into the nurture and cultivation of these plants; it fairly makes my blood boil seeing them so willfully destroyed by the mindless morons responsible for what is, in fact, a totally irresponsible act!

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

    Thanks
All our daffodils were flattened by foxes.

Nah, I don't think so, Steve. ... although we've had our share of cats coming over the perimeter fence to our back garden, there really AREN'T ANY visible signs of them causing damage. As for foxes well, we haven't heard of any prowling around this vicinity.

Oh dear me, I'd [tend to] think NOT! ... not where we're living - well-within a city boundary - which, in all my very nearly 50 years' residence at the same address, could never have been considered a 'natural' habitat for deer at any stage.

Squirrels? Perhaps "at a pinch" (pun intended) but unlikely.

I'm sorry that your floowers are a' wie'd awa, Arthur. It seems that we won't see their likes again until next year. Seriously (and sympathetically), you could have some kind of small motion activated camera set up to catch this parcel o' rogues.

Sorry to read about the destruction of your flower beds Arthur, it's a sign of the times that we live in now, as you said mindless vandalism, and heartbreaking.

It's no bed of roses around my way either. Had my wing mirror smashed several times, not to mention my number plate being nicked.

Probably best to decorate the outside of you property only where none of these louts can access, Arthur.

I know the feeling, having experienced it myself, but instead of daffodils, they took the liberty of cutting down two of our trees bordering on ours & neighbor's property while I was away. Happened last year after my husband's passing, so you can imagine my shock when I got back to see what they've done.

Thanks ... and so am I, when I think of all my wife's hard graft gone to waste. But you're right, of course, we'll really need to install one of those small CCTV cameras in an effort to prevent any recurrence because, unfortunately, there's a public footpath running alongside these borders at the front of our house.

Thanks too, Harry ... 's exactly what it amounts to - wanton destruction - and it is, indeed, heartbreaking.

Seems to be the same everywhere, Jamie. Sorry to learn about the damage done to your car ... and its numberplate being nicked.

... like I've said already though, it isn't so easy, if outside one's front door leads directly onto a public right of way.

Could it be your neighbour's [inappropriately] taken advantage of your absence ... by cutting down the trees without consulting you in the first instance?

Sorry to hear of such acts of vandalism, brainless and disgusting thing to do to anyone that has worked hard to improve their lives by adding a little colour and comfort, not good at all.

Trouble is, this might not deter a future attack because a drunken yob isn't going to think CCTV. It might be better to install one of those lights that automatically switch on when someone passes, too. Perhaps a CCTV sign as well. This did happen at night, yup?

... definitely WASN'T an animal, ... unless one takes into account animals of the human species!
