Should Child sex offenders be allowed to travel ?

Australia has legislated to stop 20,000 people on the sex offenders register getting passports. Shouldn't we do the same ?

Couple of years ago, don't know if anyone remembers it, a middle-aged Brit was photographed in Cambodia with his girlfriend. She was 9 years old. He was arrested, a clean skin, no convictions whatsoever. We can't legislate against them all, BUT you're right, we should do the same. My mate was locked up in the Philippines with a horrendous Brit pedo.................

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

Yes we should do the same. These kind of people lose there so called human rights when they commit such crimes. The victims, and potential victims have Human Rights too, and that's to be protected against them.

totally with Harry's response to the question.

Details of *ALL persons convicted of indecent assault involving a minor (in ) are, by law, automatically placed on the Sex Offenders' Register - thereby deservedly forfeiting their so~called 'Human Rights' - and, in turn, *they ought to be deprived of ANY opportunities to travel abroad,
either through the revocation of an existing passport ... or by blocking them from applying for one!

What offense are you all talking about here?

There are many different types of offenses, many are dealt with through social workers and substantial psychological retraining.

It's a bit like saying all people convicted of speeding should lose their driving licences, whether they're done for exceeding the limit by 3mph or 130mph

Serious sexual offences against children ... as the following example (reported on here) indicates:

True. But there's no guarantee the types of therapy you've mentioned will prove effective in altering the twisted mindsets of recidivists, ... whose disgusting and unpalatable patterns of behaviour can (as we've seen) easily be exploited overseas - unless access to a passport is withdrawn, to prevent such an occurrence.

It says anyone on the National child sex offenders register. If you are on that your passport is confiscated.

I give up with the speeding analogy

Maybe you should be aware of what it takes to be on the sex offenders register then

I'm quite happy that if you're on one they burn your passport.

On a sidenote, I read the other week about this American guy who hadn't actually physically commited a sexual crime but was sentenced to twenty years in prison anyway. Why? Because he allegedly planned to rape a bunch of women!
