Pete's post is self explanatory, I don't have anything to add to that. Only that every situation might be slightly different.
I can only mention my personal experience, I might have been "Kuripot" or whatever, but the extent of my marriage related expenses are what I posted earlier £ 1.400, give or take a tenner. And it includes the flight and hotel stay.
As it was also a holiday for me, I don't include expenses for eating out nearly every night, presents to relatives, car trips doing the touristy "thing", blah, blah...
We got married with a civil ceremony in Cebu, at the Hotel.
All in all, for this money, you could not get to hire a couple of wedding cars in the UK.
