Greenland's ice sheet covers an area 7 times the size of the UK. Worryingly, however, the effects of the sun's rays have led to the formation of a rapidly increasing number of "darkened patches" appearing on its icy surface since the discovery of the growth of algae first came to light there, over a century ago.
Much to the alarm of *scientists around the globe ... *who, understandably, fear the dire consequences of rising ocean levels spreading to some of Earth's LARGEST populated cities across low~lying countries.
