Leaving Philippines with one way ticket

    Hi All.

I'm going to be bringing my mother in law back with me when I go on hols in Oct.She has a 3 year family visit visa and usually I get her a return ticket but this time I would like to get her a one way ticket then buy another one way ticket to go back.we haven't quite decided when she will return and as circumstances are just now it would be more beneficial to have 2 x one way tickets rather than a return(I have looked at many prices for many tickets)

I know I could go down the route of buying an expensive one way from UK back to Phils and just cancel it for a refund but I'm always going to lose something so my question is Does immigration ALWAYS require a return ticket when leaving Phils?I mean do they ask every single time?
Is there any circumstances where they would look the other way?
Does it make a difference if I'm travelling with her?

My airline said they have no problems accepting her with a one way ticket and UK immigration don't require a return ticket.

Someone must know something about this or know of people who has experienced this odd rule of law.

    Thanks

In my experience, I have always been asked in the past, like when I used to go to Singapore as a tourist. I'm not sure if every immigration officer asks or checks that though.

I'm not sure if any of you heard about a dummy return ticket. My uncle and aunt who works in the Middle East used to get a dummy return ticket to show to the immigration officer if they haven't booked a return flight. They usually buy these from travel agents when booking their flights. They aren't really booked on that flight but it shows their name and flight details. They pay extra amount for that. Not really sure if it's legal though.
