Bias media link Arthur, I just googled it and got several different polls; the top 5 are..

    1. Norway
    2. Denmark
    3. Iceland
    4. Switzerland
    5. Finland

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

Okay, seems logical, enough, in so far as the countries you've listed almost certainly rank amongst the world's most progressive.

But does wealth derived from economic prosperity necessarily lead to happier citizens? Which is ... ... after all, the gist of this thread! Somehow I doubt it. Think, for example, of the happy smiling face of your average Pinoy or Pinay - eeking out a meagre living by comparison.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Happiness_Report

2017 Philippines was 72nd happiest country in the world - 69 down from the Philippine media's 3rd happiest.

Don't believe any of them, polls are never accurate, maybe they all are biased.

As for my opinion, well I'm happy here, and all I see are Happy Smiling Pinoy Faces.

As for prosperous countries, I think they are too busy trying to earn income to pay loans, car, house, furniture and holidays etc, not forgetting the credit card payments. Is that happy? I think not, more like the Ostrich with its head in the sand.

I think the last poll I posted is accurate, it actually gives a breakdown on why said countries are happy. The Pinoy poll is a bit like a fake-news story someone once put on here saying most Philippine engineers were graduating to stay in the Philippines. I disputed this, then a Filipina on here who was also an engineer said she graduated to move abroad and her brother was retraining to move abroad. Most Pinoys I have met would move abroad if the opportunity arose. Being poor doesn't make people happy. Cash and opportunities mightn't make people happy but they take the sting out of poverty. Most pinoys would rather have first world problems of paying mortgages, car payments, holidays etc than third world problems fo getting enough to eat, paying for medical bills, and paying for a childs education.

Because the George Sorro`s of this world own the fake news media and the fake pollsters, I don't believe a damned word of what they say or predict..

That said, you can hardly blame the Philippine media for publishing the results of a Gallup International poll result....!!!!

    Aye naku!!!!

Tongue in cheek(ily) I blamed it for UK being 19th in the 2017 poll. Why not? Brexit gets blamed for everything else

70% of all statistics are made up on the spot by 64% of people that produce false statistics
