My wifes spouse visa...next step after the 2 and half year period?

Hi there,

My wife's initial spouse visa ends in March after the 2 and a half year period. What is the next step? As its all confusing to me.

My understanding is that she has to apply for FLR she can apply for this 28 days before completing her 30 month stay but no sooner.
