Don't know about fake news Fred, the news source is non-Pinoy as is the journalist. Easy enough to prove or disprove the statistics online. It's not fake news about Marawi, it dragged on, and on and on. Even back then I said the back door to Pinas was the weak link in the chain. I did it, no checks whatsoever, it's spitting distance from the most populous Islamic country in the world, very easy travel.
