    Ilr

Hi, I have not been on for a long time but look every day.
Am I right in saying my wife has to pass the Life in Britain test before she can apply for ILR?
Her visa runs out at the end of April 2019.
Could you please let me know what we can do if she doesn't pass it.

Yes, she needs to pass a Life in the UK test. If she fails the test, she can retake it as much as she wants until she can pass it. Failure to submit a passed Life in the UK test with the ILR application, she would be refused a visa.

There are study materials she can get.

Thanks for that. But if she still failed it would she be able to apply for extra FLR?

Yes, she can apply for another extension FLR. But rather than prioritising that, all she needs to do is to keep on studying and practicing to pass the test. That should be the focus instead of thinking of failing it.

Hi there - my wife tried learning the materials with the official book, but failed a few times. We found a website that gives you 40 free practice tests that correct you straight away when you put a wrong answer. She did them again and again until the answers stuck automatically, and passed at the first attempt after learning the answers like that! The website is https://lifeintheuktests.co.uk/life-in-the-uk-test/. I don’t know who provided it all for free, but in my eyes they’re a saint! Good luck with the ILR. We applied for my wife’s citizenship yesterday, so I know the long road you’re on.
