Comes on top of the likelihood of foreign travel being suspended until August.

Things seem a lot more relaxed for normal day to day life in the UK already, an extra four weeks seems OK if we can save a few thousand lives and keep the Indian variant under control.

The big problem for me is foreign travel, I cannot see travel to the Philippines being feasible this year.

"No variant differs from the original sequence more than 0.3%.
In other words, all variants are at least 99.7% identical to the Wuhan sequence.
It`s a fiction and an evil one that variants are likely to escape immunity."

Mmm ... ... did Singapore Airlines give any firm assurances as to whether the Philippine authorities themselves would be ready to accept visitors from overseas so soon as the outbound flight month you mention there, Michael?

at the moment it looks like you would have to quarantine for a period of time depending on where you land.

My wife wants to go and see her parents around mid December, returning early January, We're still not sure if we will go

As long as they are negative Arthur.... the increase in price is to compensate for less passengers
