Thus, it may be to your benefit, to sign-up for alternative medical health insurance to help defray the cost of any medical bills that you may encumber. I recently had x-rays performed at a hospital here in Ozamiz City (Tobias Feliciano Faith General Hospital, Inc.) and my fee was also 500-Pesos. (NOTE: If you are a Senior Citizen like me, then the fee is 10% less. All you need to do is provide a copy of your ACR-I Card (as the Philippine Senior Citizen Card is NOT for meant for foreigners, only Filipinos), which shows the current date of birth on the card (to either your family physician or with whatever hospital / medical provider that you are going to be seen at). Once the Medical Provider’s staff gets to know you better, they won’t ask for your ACR-I Card.)

I had a (UK based) AXA ppp international healthcare plan for over 25 years, only used it a few times mainly for minor dental.

It started out costing under £300 quid a year which seemed fair enough, it increased every year until three years ago they wanted over £5,000 quid to renew.

The sales agent I talked to on the phone said that the cost was so high because of the length of time I had been with them.

    I cancelled.
