    Transferring funds to BPI

It’s a long time since I transferred funds to the Philippines but the BPI account we use to make payments for utilities, house insurance etc. is almost running on empty

Previously we have transferred from Nationwide to BPI.

Any any suggestions re a better MO will be appreciated

    Many thanks. John

I use Wise (used to be called TransferWise, you can download their app from Google Play and the like). I find it to have a better exchange rate and very low fees. I transfer direct from Nationwide to my BDO bank account using the app and money is transferred the next day (usually around 17hrs after really, and they say it on the app when to expect the money before you transfer).

    Thank you.

When I say bank to bank I want6 to transfer money which is in a UK bank account to BPI in Philippines. Is that possible with WISE ?

I did try to use Nationwide this morning, it was going to cost £20 flat fee, with rate of 66.63 pesos to GBP, but they said the codes, which I've used previously without any problem, were wrong.

I can transfer from my Nationwide bank account to my BDO account using the Wise app. In the payment option, I choose transfer by "Debit Card" or "Google Pay" (since my Nationwide is link to my Google Pay). I don't use the "Bank Transfer" option coz it seems to have a problem doing it that way when I tried in the past.

Simply (first) set up a payment through Wise...or similar remittance company like Remitly, etc, then fund the transfer by paying the remittance company directly from your bank account. The remittance company will have provided you with their bank account details, and given you a choice of where to pay your money (Phils bank account, money collection centre, such as LHuillier, etc).

XE are offering some fantastic rates at the moment, worth checking them out.

What exchange rate are they giving you?
XE sometimes give you more than the current exchange rate and charge £1 for up to £3000
