    Finally ILR Granted

    Hi
back in 2012 or 2011 I began to get to know a young woman from Philippines. After 11 years of Marriage and many FLRs she has finally received her Permission to stay indefinitely or ILR ( Indefinite Leave to Remain)
Thank you to all of you during those early days who helped us ones like Graham and Arthur.

Things have changed a lot now and bringing your love to this country is very expensive and more complexed.

    Take care all of you.

    John & Angeline.

    PS Citizenship next year hopefully.

Congratulations, that really was a long journey.
For some people it can take a long time but you finally got there in the end. It is all worth it, trust me, i have been though it all like most of us on here.
Citizenship will cost you a couple of grand as well, start saving.

I am very happy for the both of you. I know what my wife was like when she finally got her citizenship and then her first passport.

A few may disagree but i told my wife to apply for her filipino passport and have duel citizenship. It came in very handy when we had an extended stay in the Philippines due to the lockdown in 2019, we were there a few months. A one year balikbayan stamp in your passport when you enter the Philippines covers a few possible hazards when you enter with your wife is one good example.

Congrats, been a long road by the sounds of it.

Keep telling my wife to apply for her British passport. Will be so much easier to travel with the kids around Europe, it’s a pain in the bum now to have to get visas to go places with her.
And at least it gives us the option of holidays in places other than Philippines

I keep telling my wife to apply for her filipina passport and have duel.
When we were stuck in the philippines in 2019 due to covid lockdown it was very handy. She had the duel then.
Fly using her UK passport and show both at passport control and we both get the 1 year balikbayan stamp. Saying that just flashing the old expired filipino passport is still good enough for a 1 year stamp.
I just think having both is always a good option.
