just the rain heavy rain every afternoon for the past couple month now here in Mindanou
Same here (Pangasinan) Heavy rain, but off and on...hardly any wind. So far, no sign of flooding. Fingers crossed !
Schools closed of course....any excuse.
With the Atlantic cooling down this year, storms should be reducing in intensity. That won't last, as they'll start increasing again next year. It doesn't help that places like Manila, are sinking.
"Manila Bay seawater is rising 13.24 millimeters per year. Metro Manila is sinking by 10 centimeters annually due to rapid urbanization and extraction of groundwater. "

Some would say the place could do with a good wash.
Of course if the residents would learn not to block up the drains with their thrown down litter and general trash.
flooding has been reduced here they spent a lot on road widening but also put in new main drainage much bigger than the previous, this all the way down the main highway which used to flood regular and it would wash down the hill any parked motor bikes, still get some water above the drain level when its realy bad storm, but its a big big improvement, bennefits ,, after the rain its cool the air is fresh and any trash dog poops ect is washed away
They've had flooding in South Wales, a couple of sheep floated away! DOLLY
