All the ladies - re Handbags

Is it a pre-requisit that one can only use Gucci or Louis Vitton handbags? Also Mulberry seem to be a firm favourite. Just asking because lots of our filipino friends seem to have 300quid+ handbags!! My missus has a collection now of over 20!! I don't mind, she rarely drinks, doesn't smoke, and it's her money she works hard for. Although at valentines, xmas and birthdays, usually expensive for me

Most of them, er all of them bought in Philippines are chinese knock offs. If your inclined to buy real ones in the UK for your Filipina hunny, you might consider flying to the home land to stock up. It may be cost effective. The wierd thing is before I came to Asia, I had no idea the depth of cloning products. You can find every object you can think of in the local stores and public markets, some with made in U.S.A. or Germany stamped on the metal parts.

some are just cheap copies , and others I am convinced are grey or black market stuff made to spec in Asia on behalf of western bussiness concerns, and smuggled out the back door for sale in territories outside the jurisdiction of the "country of origin"

i remember the first time i went to italy, i bought a gucci handbag and a matching wallet.

the first time i went to france, i bought matching bag and wallet from louis vuitton.

i am guilty of having too much "splurge bags" but i cant help it. dress to kill isnt enough, youve got to "bag it" just as much. lol.

I have worked in Hong Kong/China for the last six years in Procurement and it is possible in Shenzen city to purchase different grades of copy from crap to only an expert from the proprietory company can tell, I know I have tried. The good thing in Hong Kong is that the wealthy and fashion driven women here buy new models every season and there are specialist shops which sell original bags second hand(been to two dinner parties and a ball so no use now) which my honey can then buy at 1/4 of the new price, often still a couple of hundred quid but hell she is worth it. And yes BECAUSE is her reasoning too

Im not into a designer labels stuffs.. its not the brand that counts, its how you carry yourself.

It's just impractical to have a 500£ worth of handbag while im thinking that some of my friends in Africa are still using the supermarket plastic bag. LOL..nothing wrong I supposed, recycling is good.

But to those who loves designer things...
    well enjoy, and treat yourselves.

I still think that spending such inordinate amounts of money on some accessories, which will sit for long periods of time in the darkest recesses of ones wardrobe, is scandalous and wasteful.
And to cap it all, most of the designer stuff isn't even practical...

    Oh, well.........

I don't use a shoulder bag or handbag. I don't like carrying any. I use a wallet that can put in my back pocket of my jeans or can put in my inside pocket of my jacket. If I buy things I want it very durable that will last for many years and I don't care if its expensive but its worth. I don't buy unnecessary things its wasting money.
    Regards,

    Ping

My missus wanted to buy a load of luis vitton bags when she was coming to uk. She nagged and nagged (not seriously just mucking around) i told her they are all fake and real chavy.

She has realised this so buys cheap primark bags she can have hundreds of the dam things then ship them of to phill after a while.

my first louis vuitton i got 7 years ago. comes out from its proper protective bag very often. after all these years it is still looking good because of the quality of materials used.

i prefer quality to quantity. and shoot me as i am guilty, exclusivity. and as the designs are classics there is no need to buy it every month or so.

ive never bought a fake bag. i dont think i ever will. if i cant afford a real one then so be it.

i have passion for bags as well but i only buy what i need. i don't like spending my husband's and my hard-earned money to get spent on too much priced bags... it's not practical really but for some women it is their investment & their pride & joy...bless them!
