[NAIA] Domestic airport starts expansion, improvement

While waiting NAIA Terminal 3 openning (LOL!), they start improving the Domestic old terminal to increase its capacity:

Domestic airport starts expansion, improvement (Manila times - Feb 19, 2008)

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) and Cebu Pacific have jointly started the expansion of the Manila Domestic Airport on February 15, which will be completed by April 15, 2008.
The expansion of the domestic airport facilities will increase seating capacity by 66 percent and ease passenger congestion, especially during the peak season...

I thought they started already 2 months ago.... Should be finished already tomorrow ... Who will pass there to confirm what they're doing? And another time thay speaking of domestic airport. There's no domestic airport in Manila, but an "old" domestic terminal (built in 1948) in the international airport (only one airport in Manila!).

Domestic airport under rehab (Philippines Star - April 14, 2008)
The Manila International Airport Authority has started rehabilitating the old Manila Domestic Airport (MDT), MIAA general manager Alfonso Cusi said ...

... Cebu Pacific agreed to relocate their cargo area to pave way for the new arrival area, while the arrival area will now be the departure area.
The MIAA expanded the domestic airport's flight check-in lobby and security check areas, and built more boarding gates, holding areas and restrooms, Cusi said.

The new arrival area will also have five new baggage conveyors, instead of the three conveyors at the current arrival area.

We need a new domestic terminal

I found an interesting article in the news today (don't dream, it's not for Heathrow...):

We need a new domestic terminal (Philippines Star - April 18, 2008)
The news headline announces "Aging domestic terminal gets new lease on life." If the press release of NAIA authorities is to be believed, the 47-year-old one-story building that is now serving as the Manila Domestic terminal is now porting new facilities and they want us think puede na yan. Big deal! I have seen what they have done there and I still say it is a bad excuse of an airport terminal that sells our country short to our visitors and shortchanges the rest of us...
