erm, well need some advise guys

The missus has her fiance visa, and is waiting for me to give the go ahead for her to come over.. the reason she isn't here already is cuz I was looking for a new (work) contract.
Now I just accepted a contract - in switzerland - for a year. and am a bit unsure what my options are? should I just get her over here, then come back for the odd weekend. then once we tie the knot she will have flr and can join me in switzerland?

I would check with Swiss Embassy if it is ok for her to be there with you for a while under European rules...


The existence of these rights under EEA law has caused many British citizens, who have experienced difficulties in getting leave to enter or remain for their family members, to consider travelling to another EEA member state and establishing themselves there as a worker or self-employed person. A British citizen travelling to Belgium, for example, and either working or intending to work in that country, would have an immediate right to be joined in their new home by third country family members. It seems strange, but it is true that a British citizen has more rights to enjoy family life in any one of the seventeen other member countries of EEA than they do in the country of their own citizenship!

I know of phills who have gone to switzerland in the past but maye worth just checking on the latest situation for non Europeans (non whites in particular) as i rember hearing that anti immigrant feelings and poltics were coming to the forefront recently.

Beautiful country though only problem is what do you do once the one year contract is up apply to come to the UK, if you need to return to the UK asap will your better half be able to come or go back to phill?

Based on today's news from the Home Office & the Prime Minister I think it's best to get her to the UK & marry her ASAP - more rule changes.....
