Senior care workers it seems

But it seems many care companies it appears from news articles would rather not pay 7.02 for non eu care workers and pay eu care workers less. That or find a way to get their flesh of pound by working them harder some way or another.

Heres some Info on the Minimum wage and what to do if your not being paid minimum wage.

This car goes like an Austin Princess fitted with a BMW series 5 engine.
I understand your a scouser, so don't worry, I will explain again....
I said, no, its not just newbies that get the minimum wage. Even staff who have been in the job for a long time may still only be paid the national minimum wage. It is totally up to the Employer what they pay their employees, as long as the national minimum wage limit is paid.
OK!
Might your big end with that big motor Rob![]()
yes this was some new thing brought in by the government, to try and stop the flow of care workers being employed from outside the EU, sadly though many of the new member eastern european and british care workers are still being exploited for the paltry minimum wage of £5.52 per hour but some lucky ones are getting a wacking great big £6 an hour, no overtime or weekend enhancement pay. Oh and yes this is before Tax n NI, Sound sgood to a filipino but in reality with the costs of living it's not as great as it sounds.
were i work for the n h s thay pay care givers from 12.577 to 15.523 ayear thats in oxford the same has in london cos the cost of living is higher in south
Where do these people live on that kind of money??
That wouldn`t even pay the rent for a one bed flat where we used to live..
Seems to be getting harder and harder to become established in the UK.
I have it on good authority that even the Poles are starting to go back home.
Better off no doubt.
yes in oxford were i live have a lot of polish people and a lot are going and geting jobs in germany cos the costs of living to high here
well what i do know is that where i work, we now have 4 poles working out of a work force 14, 3 of them have been taken on in the last month..
and from what they say, more of their families are planning on coming to the UK.
for the first time last week, i heard 3 brits i work with moaning to each other, about the poles working here and on more coming to the UK, on the news this morning Protestors scaled a large crane in London's parliament square early on Monday, calling for a referendum on the European Union Lisbon treaty

are brits slowly turning on euro immigrants in the uk![]()

Well I know only two poles, north and south.
I live just a few hundred yards from Worthing Hospital and have got to know many filipino nurses, recently I know of several that have left to work in Canada, U.S.A and Australia because the cost of living in the UK is so high and they do not feel that the NHS appreciates them. The problem now is that if you complain about your pay the bosses just say well leave then we'll just get some Polish workers to do the job.
Ps the minimum wage is going up soon be intresting if the 7.02 will go up as well.
My brother works for the NHS & went to Manilla about 10 years ago? to recruit about 100 nurses.
He said one fella was so desperate, had travelled days & fell asleep in the interview...Got the job though.
They're all still here, made a life for themselves over here.
...Totem pole![]()
We have a pole in the garden with the English flag gently waving in the breeze...........we pay him 300 pesos a day![]()
