I know people will be able to advise you. As i recall good threads on this in the past.
We bought our rings locally in my wifes town belive it or not by cataologe, they were quite basic cost very little we spent far more on the engagment party.
The wifes engagment ring in Alabang in one of the stores there.

Maybe worth a search on here, but i found this thread with some suggestions

Ongpin in Binondo is the main jewelry hub there in Manila
just not sure if its a place where you really are going to be safe though
    just be aware of pickpockets..
you can also try to contact this shop
    Mayfair Jewelry
809 Ongpin Street Sta. Cruz, Manila
    733-3142 / 7333093
They have been in the jewelry industry since i was young
so i assume they are reliable and they are already pretty well
known amongst jewellers for their price also and reliability...
got my engagement ring there at a really good price

try some jewerly shop outside, just be aware of
pickpockets, but if you dont mind paying a bit extra
the jewerly shop in the malls is the best place
a lot of selection, and its worth it,so nice and

Thankyou for all your suggestions i'll try and and get to as many place's as i can.
I'm not too keen on going to the malls because i just think they have to charge more to pay for the nice shops.
Would anybody mind saying how much they paid for the wedding rings? I know what kind of price i will be paying for the engagement ring, but i have no idea for the wedding ring

    Cheers
    Steve

Sometimes the malls maybe better as normally they have advertised prices while some other places may make you pay whitey tax

depends really.. if you want diamonds in it or just plain band.. whether its white gold or yellow gold, and also whats the specs on the diamonds and the gold..
for a simple band i think you can get it for 10k pesos for both rings already in ongpin.. i suggest if you go there try the jeweler that i suggested. cause in ongpin, it also helps to know who is a reliable jeweler and who isnt. FYI im not affiliated with them in any way.. just know lots of people including my family and me who go to them.
having diamonds can take you from maybe 17k to 35k or even 50k depending on how big your finger is and the specs on the diamond (carat, clarity, color)
shops in malls are really expensive because they have to pay a lot for the space. just an example, my engagement ring costs double when we saw the same ring in a mall compared to us getting it at a diff reliable jeweler..
there are some jewelers who have an online inquiry email system.. maybe you can go to their sites and try and get a quote so you can have an early overview of how things cost...

    i agree with andypaul
thats why make sure you go to somewhere reliable.. and also doesnt help if your filipina tries to take charge of the transaction.. to make sure that you are not paying a lot for something just bec youre a foreigner.. just go around the shops.. see how much they are.. gather as many prices as you can...
oohh greenhills is also a place you can go to as they have a section there that has a lot of jewelers inside (not the stalls where the muslims sell the pearls.. i think the section is called Jewellers or something..
