I drove my rent-a-reck to the garage earlier as I had to pick a few bits out of my car's boot and the verdict is nasty, but not as bad as feared.... For now....
They had just had a look at it, and apparently it is the clutch master cylinder at fault.
The quick estimate is £600/650, as they have to take the gearbox assembly out, to be able to replace the part....
Obviously as "they do", they will find something else that will need repairing or replacing, pushing the costs a little higher....
With some luck, I might be able to have my car back, late friday afternoon (tomorrow)....
Now, if I only could remember where I did put the credit card cheques...
