    six months in the Phillis

I tried the search function...may be I'm dumb

Want to stay in the Philippines for six months(just under) it looks to me that its possible to keep getting a 59 day extension but my air ticket on arrival will not fit my first visa expiry time.

In, Thai they never looked at this and two 90 day visa purchased in UK worked fine with a border run in the middle

Suggestions appreciated Ive looked at the Embassy Site not clear to me

Ok, you can get the first visa extension for 59 days, and then you can apply a second for 3 - 4 months duration after that.

I've never been asked to see my return air ticket on arrival in Manila, BUT that doesn't mean they will not ask to see your ticket.

when you arrive, you'll be stamped a 21 day visa.

before that expires you can extend that for 38 days... 21+38 = 59 days

you can then extend for either 1 month or 2 months.

    then just keep on extending...

i don't know if they changed the rules again...but last Feb i extended my fiances visa...max was 2 months per extension.

    correct me if am wrong.

    thanks.

my concern was that it didn't look like you can do it legally with the onward travel....also true in Thai but i know that one.....the other alternative is to arrive with onward travel to hong kong for example fully refundable and cash it after your through just wanted to see if i was misunderstanding something here thanks any one else have thoughts on this?

Just extend it to any immigration office in the Philippines. . just make sure you do it 2 days before it expired otherwise you’ll get a penalty. Your first extension will be good for another 21 days , your second extension will allow you to stay for 3 months.

You are only allowed to stay in the Philippines for a total of one year. . .

Wow thats one long holiday and maybe also useful for those needing to stay with their mahal to apply for a visa in the UK.

i think you're fine with the onward travel ticket KeithAngel... it's an exit ticket anyway.

if ever they asked for a return ticket...well just say...i'm passing by (country) before i go bk to England.

    Thumbs up

Thanks everyone perhaps I never made my question clear

In Thailand you can get 29niights visa on arrival but if your return ticket was for two months you "could" be declined since your departure would be after your visa had expired not likely but possible

I am quiet happy to accept this is not an issue in Philis (note spelling Keith) and can this thread be locked please

Just remeber on my first vist the lady asked to see my return ticket but i think she was just going though the motions.

I think the phill passport control and customs have bigger fish to fry than western tourists. Thailand has far far more western tourists who stay for long periods as you will know.

Why not get yourself a tourist visa before you leave UK? Then you have an initial stay of 59 days, and can extend it every 2 months. I'm hoping that I will only have to extend once more before my 13a is approved!

Oh, and I've never been asked for my return ticket on arrival at Davao - even before I had a tourist visa.

No problem getting a tourist visa but it would still expire four months befor my return ticket to the UK
