no you don't need to, as a marriage abroad will be considered legal in the UK provided that the ceremony complied with the laws of the country you are married in, as already said only advantage is you can get a copy of it, but then you have to pay for it..
i cannot think of one advantage, but disadvantage it will not be on NSO sec paper
