Sounds nearly as bad as NatWest. After reading the post here I phoned NatWest told them that my wife & I were going to the Philippines for a month and asked them to make sure our cards were not blocked. Response was "we WILL block your card anyway". Been told by them that this WILL happen and we'll have to phone UK to get cards unblocked.
