Question Hello I am Mick Cant a new member

Hi all, my name is Michael Cant, I am 63 and live on the Isle of Wight, UK.
I was told about this site while on a ferry from Manila to Cagayan De Oro City, where I was to marry a Filipina.

I left the UK on the 11th March and after arriving at Manila I stayed one night in a hotel then went to the British Embassy to exchange the cert of no impedamint I had obtained in the UK for the Legal Capacity to Marriage local certificate.

Becouse i knew i had plenty of time before the wedding date of April the 8th i decided to travell to Cagayan De Oro City, by superferry, i thought i would be able to get some good photes of the many small isliands, boy was i wrong, the ferry seemed to take a wide route away from them.

I was relived when i finally was reunited with my lady at the ferry terminal, this was my 3rd visit to see her in her home city, we had 2 rooms booked in the same hotel that we stayed in the other times, 2 rooms as her sister was a chaperone!.
We then had the arrangments to make at the city hall and attended the nessary sex education events.

We married in a cival service at a beach resort, as i had been divorced, my wife did want a church wedding but accepted it that we could not.
We did have a full service with the Filipina tradations.

We then went to Bohal for our honeymoon then back to the hotel in Cagayan De Oro City, this time with only the one room.

I was there 7 weeks, and returned home to the UK yesteday Saturday the 26th April, we did apply online for her visa applacation but could not set a June date for her interview as only April dates were shown, and we knew we had to wait for the offical copy of the marriage certificate for her interview.

I had taken with me most of the emails we had sent each other over the past yeay, along with my bank statments and photos of us together with her family from previous visits.

So all I can do now is wait, and hope she can get a early appointment to hopefully obtain her visa.

I am worried that they say not all applacations are passed, ours is a genuine marriage and we just want to be together, any thought on getting through the visa applacation would be very thankfully recived.
    All the best,
    mickcant

Hi Michael and welcome to the forum, my wife is also from Cagayan De Oro.
All I can say about getting through the visa process is that if your wife's application has been well prepared with lots of evidence of your relationship and your ability to support her, after that it's just a waiting game.

    Louella & Iain.

Mick, as you can see you will find lots of friendly people (OK, maybe a little crazy sometimes) and good natured banter here - I hope all works out for you!

By the way, the Magic Roundabout rules! However, Zebedee saying "time for bed everyone" always struck me as a a bit pervy for a kids programme...
