HELP! i'm a little confused ....? my spouse visa started on the 19-9-07 and it will expire on the 19-9-09, i entered the uk on the 12-10-07 this is 23 days i'm in within the 28 period can you tell me what i need to apply for now? please.

nothing yet just ilr nearer to the 19-9-09 google joe bloggs and ilr hes the man who remebers all the date marlarky.

But start sorting the evidence now and if necessary gathering more.

the earliest she can apply for an ILR is 28 days before her second year in the UK which is:
arrival date = 12/10/07
2nd year anniversary = 12/10/09
2nd year anniversary -28 days = 14/9/09
LTR visa expiration = 19/9/09

always apply for a visa asap, if you don't get a acknowlegement letter concerning your app within a week of posting, or your visa payment has not been taken, you should start to wonder why not , so apply asap if there are any problems you've got time to sort them

hi gadget! do you mean that i need to apply ilr on the 14/9/09, 5 days only before my visa expire? sorry but i can't get my head around this at all...

you can apply as early as 14/9/2009 but no later than 18/9/2009 (19/9/2009 is a Saturday).

if you apply before 14/9/2009, you will be rejected and most likely lose the fee.

if you apply after 19/9/2009, you will be considered as an overstayer

The info gadgets gives is very good.

One thing you need to bear in mind do you plan applying in person as yo need to book an appoiment about two weeks ahead if i recall correctly (if you wish to get a good date and time for yourselves) or by post?

ilr application by post cheaper but takes longer to find out if ok and your paperwork away from you for some time.
