It is typical of England to play poorly against poor teams and i do not think you will see their best game until they meet Germany if it pans out that way.
And it took two LIVERPOOL PLAYERS to win the game for England!!!!

An interesting situation now: by the time we play Sweden, we will know who are 1 and 2 in Group A. So, effectively, the choice of 2nd round opponents is in our own hands; though I don't know whether I'd prefer Ecuador or Germany! Maybe Ecuador, because we tend to do well against "lesser" South American teams, and Germany are the home team, more familiar with our style and have a strong desire to avenge that 5-1 defeat (oh, the good old days!). So, if Ecuador stay top of Group A, I hope we lose to Sweden
Maybe we should send out an experimental team in that case: Crouch in goal, Lennon and Walcott in central defence, Hargreaves and Carragher up front...
I'll have a word with Sven...
Whoever we play though, we could be facing Argentina if we get to the Quarters?
Terry's contribution was even more important than Gerrard's: if he hadn't made that fantastic goal-line clearance in the first half, the whole balance of the game would have changed.
Did I hear right that Beckham was "man of the match"? For what? Making one decent cross to Crouch?
