    Philippine National Bank

Has anyone had dealing with them?

I thought it may be an idea, with possible future visits in mind, to get a global money card as a backup to Visa and Master, just in case.

It has taken me two weeks to get nowhere!!!!

Card issued without problem, but to set up online remittance, what a pain!
I have had to phone them and nudge them along every step of the way, each time I phone, they find everything, but nothing is being done to it. So they do a little, then stop until next time I phone.
Yesterday, they got as far as sending me an email to say the account had been set up and activated. But when trying to log on, the system does not recognise the username. Even tried copying and pasting from the email.
The account is setup, as I managed to reset the password, I can only assume they have given me the wrong username. (not the first time they have had finger trouble on the keyboard)

I have just phoned, the openining time was 10:00, but first answer was 10:15, and then asked to phone back in an hour, as the person who deals with it hasn't arrived yet, but "he is usually there by 11:15"

I'm not particularly annoyed or upset, luckily there is no rush, and 30 years living in Africa has taught me to just go along with the way it happens. But if anyone wanted something done in a hurry, this is not the place to go!

Well, it was worth the wait.
I went through to the Nottinghill branch, and got someone who knew just waht was happening, and what the problem was straight away.
Because I have a long surname, and the surname forms part of the user neme, there system keeps cutting it short!

    Hi joebloggs
Did you have to go to London to open your PNB account?

    Was it in Peel Green

I'm just trying to work out the best way to get money to my Mahal, now that WU will charge 15% for collection.

i think i must have phoned them

PNB is a good way, if the one way, they give a better rate and they have a fixed, lower handling fee than most if not everyone else.. i don't use anyone else, and i haven't since 2003

    that tells you something

and b4 PNB, i could only really use, RBS International money transfer and they would charge me in usd and a handling fee of upto £40 back in 2000-20002
