    Unhappy visa wait

    evening all

we are waiting for the result of the visa application for my wifes 10yr old daughter to join us in the UK.

its been 10 weeks now since the high commission received the documents.
we only waited 5weeks when my then fiancee applied.

has any one else waited right up to the 3month answer target that they say they work on or even gone past the 3 months.

at what stage would you think is right to start asking as i thought that it would not take as long as it is from 20th march.

    thanks john

3 months is also the target for settlement visas. One applicant recently received hers after 8 weeks. It seems to vary widely based up so many determinants such as time of year, etc but luck of the drawer seems to be the key variable.

I am about to call to enquire as to the status of my own wifes application; primarily becuase I can't overlook the fact that showing interest may count for something - you never know!

my stepson got a settlement visa within a month, thou that was more than 18 months ago, and he was asked to attend an interview, where he was asked questions about his father..

it's busy this time of year for visa apps, as you know they should process the visa app within 3 months

when my wife applied for a spouse visa, she started phoning them after about 8wks, asking how the apps were progressing, and when she got nowhere, i started emailing the embassy, after a few weeks of getting replies from different people each time or no reply ,as they had gone on holiday or a course etc, i started to get ,

so i complained to the managers of the embassy explaining what was going on, and the problems i was having with the embassy staff. i got a forwarded email from one manager (an english guy) to another manager (another english guy) , saying i was having some problems, and could he help out, within hours my wife got a call from the embassy to pick the passports up

they have no right to mess people around
